This role will require the successful candidate to be based in Sydney.

General Responsibilities and Skillset

  • Leadership of client engagements and projects
  • Consult directly with senior management teams within our clients
  • Must be capable of working in a consultative environment
  • Must be capable of working with geographically and technically diverse teams
  • Must be capable of providing technical leadership in one or more areas while collaborating with project and program management teams
  • Must be capable of interfacing with a wide range of technical and business representatives within our client base
  • Knowledge of technology trends and how they impact our client base
  • General knowledge of telecommunications, structured cabling, comms rooms designs, networking, voice, trader voice, market data, trading systems, audio visual, and IT physical security
  • Ability to interact with business and application representatives
  • Ability to synthesise technical requirements from business and operational requirements
  • Working knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity concepts and practices
  • High-level understanding of data centre / comms room infrastructure: power, cooling, cabling, layout, operations
  • High-level understanding of technology investment and management: ability to build budgets, scope projects, manage technology vendors
  • Project management skills: ability to run projects and work within a program management structure for larger projects
  • Familiarity with large enterprise organisational structures and decision processes
  • Ability to work on and deliver projects independently or as part of a larger team
  • Ability to aggregate and organise information across disciplines to develop cohesive strategies
  • Develop a test plan for new office site acceptance of IT infrastructure prior to relocation event(s)
  • Build a schedule of logistics for the relocation of IT infrastructure, telco services and End User Technology (EUT)
  • Develop a User Acceptance Testing plan for EUT
  • Oversee engagement of specialist IT equipment relocation vendors
  • Develop post-move activities plan including decommission of existing technology at previous office

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent job experience.
  • Prince2, MSP, Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Certification
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Financial services experience including trade floor technology
  • Experience in directing large program / project teams for complex projects
  • Good working knowledge of information technology disciplines
  • Experience of working on construction and fit-out projects
  • Experience working in IT consultancy
  • Experience of procurement

Requirements

  • Ability to write effective reports, technical analyses, and business analyses
  • Ability to efficiently run regular project team meetings and update and manage project plan, RAID logs
  • Ability to develop and present effective PowerPoint presentations to technical and senior leadership
  • Ability to communicate with senior leadership within our client base: SVP, Managing Directors, CxO, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with line managers, technical leaders and their direct reports
  • Ability to communicate with business and non-technical user based to understand operational requirements
  • Ability to perform a technology lead role – managing multiple workstreams and providing an interface between the construction programme and the IT organization
  • Ability to manage planning, design and implementation processes concurrently
  • Strong business acumen
