About the role
CS Technology is seeking an Infrastructure Solutions SME to support our Global Strategy and Technology practice. We are looking for a self-motivated, intelligent, success-driven individual to lead technical components of transformation engagements. A candidate will have an opportunity to work with a highly talented and motivated team supporting technology transformation programs for many of the largest and most prestigious Fortune 500 firms in the world. In addition, a candidate will have an opportunity to develop experience across multiple aspects of advisory business. General Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor for infrastructure transformation programs, engage in strategic conversations with our clients to identify business drivers for new technology adoption
Lead technology infrastructure transformation engagements; develop current state summaries, IT transformation strategies and adoption roadmaps
Serve as SME for Infrastructure migration planning and execution engagements
Advise how Infrastructure technology trends impact our clients and enable future business capabilities
Provide client-driven and internal deliverable documentation as it relates to the specific scope and needs of each project and program
Contribute to proposal development for infrastructure related services
Contribute to development of the infrastructure transformation service offerings
Contribute to financial analysis for business case development
Work in a consultative environment
Work with geographically and technically diverse teams
Interface with a wide range of technical and business representatives within our client base
Specific Responsibilities
Scope/Change Management:
Ensuring resource efforts remain focused on the established goals, objectives, deliverables and targets established for the project
Interacting with internal and external project resources to ensure evaluation, final disposition and communication of changes to project scope via a formal change control process
Schedule Management:
Creating integrated project schedules including tasks, milestones, resource assignments, and task dependencies resulting in a clear understanding of critical path activities.
Monitoring and tracking performance to the project schedule by interacting with project team members and conducting regular team status meetings
Updating and communicating the project schedule weekly
Risk/Issue Management:
Facilitating identification of Risks and Issues that may affect project deliverables and targets, and interacting with project team to develop and implement migration strategies and corrective actions to ensure minimum impact to the project
Communication Management:
Communicating project health and status to project team members, management, committees and key stakeholders as per established reporting schedules, following reporting guidelines as per the communications plan, and using a standard PM tool set.
Financial Management:
Create initial baseline and detailed technology budget. Manage and maintain all aspects of project financials including change orders, timesheets, invoices, contingencies, etc.
Quality Management:
Establish a Quality Management Process and ensure all quality metrics are met throughout project implementation.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Math, Physics or Engineering
Knowledge of technology trends
At least 7 years of experience in technology engineering, architecture, design, and implementation as applied to complex computing systems
Compute and virtualization
Storage, backup and archiving
Network
Specialization sought in one of the following:
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure, SD-WAN, SDN, SD-SAN
- Cloud solution implementations (Azure, AWS, Google, OpenStack, SoftLayer)
- Understanding when Cloud Computing should be leveraged vs. other infrastructure technologies
- Workload analysis for cloud hosting
- Automation tools and solutions
Experience with business case development and TCO/ROI analysis
Familiarity with information security frameworks and architecture
Working knowledge with multi vendor solutions
Working knowledge with platform automation and orchestration framework and toolsets
Ability to interact with executive management, business and application representatives
Ability to synthesize rational technical requirements from business and operational requirements
Working knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity concepts and practices
Understanding of technology investment and management: ability to build budgets, scope projects, manage technology vendors, etc.
Basic project management skills: ability to run small projects and work within a program management structure for larger project
Familiarity with large enterprise organizational structure and decision processes
Ability to work and deliver projects independently or as part of a larger team
Managing end to end delivery of the project/workstream
Understanding and demonstrable track record of delivering within a structured project management framework
Excellent understanding of how IT departments function from service to solution to architecture and standards
Ability to interface with architects and engineers of adjacent technical disciplines
Ability to develop and present effective PowerPoint presentations to technical and senior leadership
Ability to communicate with stakeholders within our clients
Ability to communicate effectively with line managers, technical leaders and their direct reports
Ability to communicate with business and non-technical users to understand operational requirements
MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Visio
