Major Global Bank

Challenge

As befitting one of the world’s largest financial services companies, our client maintains an expansive facility footprint that results in high management and operational costs and complexity. For both institutional and client-facing reasons, the company wanted to consolidate its critical trading and administrative offices at one strategic location, in an environmentally friendly corporate headquarters that would incorporate the most advanced existing and emerging technologies available.

Solution

Located in New York City, the new 1.1-million-square-foot facility houses the company’s global corporate and investment banking, wealth and investment management, and consumer and commercial banking businesses. CS Technology was engaged as the project’s IT general contractor, responsible for coordinating and facilitating all areas of the technology build-out, including the design, engineering, and implementation management of the entire technology infrastructure. In addition, we provided master planning for the firm’s six trading floors, two main distributed processing data centers, all building-wide voice and data infrastructure, and the design of the facility’s cable plant and telecommunications closets.

We partnered with the client to establish the technology project management office (PMO); create a series of informational publications for the client team members focused on emerging technologies and data center trends; gather all pertinent technical requirements; and oversee construction and systems implementation for all IT-related functions. In addition, CST assisted the client in providing relocation support for the 5,000 trading and non-trading employees who now work in the new facility.
